It's just three more "-ber" months and it's the Yuletide season again! And yes, we love the cheery ho-ho-ho's and the timeless "Jingle Bell Rock" playing on the radio but nothing beats the time to exchange gifts! All gifts are to be appreciated, of course, but a handmade one is something to be far more valued. How does these sound—homemade goodies from your best friend, a handwritten letter from your crush or a handcrafted necklace from your sister. Sweet right?
Let this Christmas season be a bit more special by creating some handmade gifts. To start off, here we have an easy one: a DIY Washi Tape Coaster. This will be a great gift for caffeine-loving moms who can use this to accompany their coffee fix.
What you'll need:
- Pre-cut corkboard
- Washi tapes
- A pair of scissors
Step 1: Snip to Fit
Get your corkboard and draw your preferred shape and size. We took a round masking tape (3.5 inches diameter), traced along the edges and snipped it up.
Step 2: Washi 'Em Up!
Cover your coaster with Washi tapes! You can layer them with stripes of your favorite colored tapes or place them on top of each other. Just a tip, go creative on this one!
Step 3: Trim the Excess
Slowly trim the edges where there is excess washi tapes. AND YOU'RE DONE!
We enjoyed this DIY and made two more. One's a mini version just because we like small things and the other one we mixed with a slightly much wider tape.
If you made your own verson of your washi tape coasters, please do tag us (@TGROnlinePH on Twitter and @thegirlsroomonline on IG) or send us an e-mail (firstname.lastname@example.org)! We'll definitely repost it for the world to see.
Have a great week!
